The First National Information Technology competition
The first national Information Technology competition took place in March 2009 under the management of 7th Secondary School “Kuzman Shapkarev”, Blagoevgrad. The numbers of contestants broke the record- 105 projects and 149 contestants. The two groups were: V-VIII grade, IX- XII grade and the directions were: “Web design”; “Multimedia applications”; Internet applications”. The themes of the competition were: “My native place - known and unknown”; “My world in music and images”; “Man has survived because he laughs”. Positive situation and competent jury contributed to the success of the competition. Good conditions let the contestants to show their possibilities. The awards were provided by the sponsors:

All the contestants received certificates and awards for their participation. The competition is entered in the calendar of activities of the Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians in 2010. Thanks to the active assistance of the Rector of the SWU “Neofit Rilski” Blagoevgrad, the competition is the largest of its character in the field of IT. As a result of this the interest to the second national competition held in tradition in the last Saturday and Sunday in March was extremely large. Thanks to the active role of the expert on IT Pavlova in RIO Blagoevgrad it develops clear regulation and rules for participation. The Municipality of Blagoevgrad as host and organizer of the event gives its contribution to the increase of its prestige.
The Second National Information Technology competition
For the second time in March in Blagoevgrad with a perfect organization under the leadership of the 7th Secondary School “Kuzman Shapkarev”, SWU “Neofit Rilski”, RIO Blagoevgrad and Municipality Blagoevgrad the second largest IT competition impress Bulgaria in five directions: Web site, Multimedia clips, Flash applications, Internet applications and Multimedia applications. Contestants have developed their projects months before the start of the competition. The themes were: “My native place-known and unknown”; “Great events of the 20th century”, “Art and my world”; “Multilingual Europe”. They received prestigiuos awars: admission in the SWU “Neofit Rilski” Blagoevgrad, announced by the University Rector, the award of the Mayor, multifunctional devices, TV sets, printers and IT accessories , books and encyclopedias of different languages, luxury certificates and many others. All contestants and guests received gifts by the organisers.
Criterion for the high level of the competition is an extremely competent jury of authorized proffesors from the SWU ”Neofit Rilski”-Blagoevgrad, Sofia University, New Bulgarian University, members of the national examining committee on computer science and IT, authors of textbooks and teaching materials. The competition has already successfully called “Bulgaria found talents”. Directions for participation in the competition are:
